about u(s)
Welcome to the lab.
Since 2015 Röpa lab has focused on one thing, and one thing only:
END FAST FASHION.
How we plan to do it:
1.) Limit design.
Give the customer a reasonable amount of options to choose from.
2.) Work on a per-order basis.
Eliminate the need for inventory. Reduce waste. See how archives work below.
3.) Create transparency and accountability.
You cant just say you are reducing waste, you have to prove it. Accurate material sourcing, use and waste information for all!
4.) Create and maintain excellent customer/designer/artist relationships.
Afterall, they are why we do this isnt it?
How Archives work:
Here at Röpa lab we work based of an archive system. The way that works is the following way:
1.) The Archive 'opens' for 2 weeks. At this point we take in as many orders as possible. This way we know how many units we need to make.
2.) After 2 weeks, the Archive 'closes' and the order is sent in for the number of units ordered. You can still place orders at this time, but delivery times will increase.
3.) The production takes form 2-4 weeks to be made. Once the production is done, individual orders are filled. At this point the Archive 'opens' again for another 2 weeks.
What is an Archive?
An Archive represents one cohesive collection. Our basic line, for example, is an example of Archive 1. When the second collection comes out, that will become Archive 2, and so on.
Slow. Fashion.
Every piece is made to order, specially for you. This slow fashion process allows us to prioritize sustainability in our practice, through ethical and mindful consumption of our production materials. Please allow for 2-3 weeks of processing time per piece.
